“A train went by.”
“How do you know?”
“I saw it’s tracks.”
“Hahaha”

As a toddler that silly joke planted a seed inside Rick that grew into a love of trains. As a kid he enjoyed watching the train go around the Christmas tree. He built his first model train as a teenager with the help from his older brother. In college he built an N-scale layout using a couple old doors as the base. While working as assistant manager at Hammond Toy & Hobby, he met and fell in love with Carolyn. After their wedding, he set up his train in the dining room of their first (and small) apartment. He soon got the opportunity to be a store manager of a new Hammond Toy & Hobby Shop location opening in Salt Lake City. Serving in the Air Force gave him the opportunity to join various clubs throughout the states. His attention to detail in the scenery of his layouts takes creative skill and patience. As a member of a Kansas City train club, he sets up T-Trak modules at shows and exhibits. We are excited to be able to showcase some of his work along with other displays. It is fun for all ages to watch the locomotives chug along their tracks.
